Project Summary

The Ragnar Relay Series is a team event involving teams of 12 runners. For successful “finisher” status, participants must collectively traverse over 200 miles in just under two days. It’s an endurance race that tests the limits of participants, but is also known for it’s eccentric team names, costumes and runner spirit. The race is also symbolic for it’s high use of white rental vans that teams use as transportation and lodging as they make their way through the grueling course. As you would imagine, vans are also subject to a large degree of theme decoration. This piece is an illustration I was asked to do for The Running Dead – a 2014 Ragnar Del Sol team. The theme was carried through posters, van art and t-shirts worn by the team on-course.
